In a word, no. A Jew who believes in the divinity of Jesus is no longer a Jew, he or she is a Christian!
Today, there is a movement afoot called by various names: Messianic Judaism, Jews for Jesus, etc. These movements claim that one can worship Jesus as the Christ and still remain Jews. This may have been possible during the time of the Apostles and Paul, but it is theologically impossible today. These movements are, in the opinion of many Jews, evangelical organizations designed to lure Jews into Christianity. As such, they violate the principles of respect and tolerance to which we hold ourselves in the Western world.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Jn. 3.16-17
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing…For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Gal. 5.2, 6
I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah and, even though he tarries, I will wait for him.

Welcome
Welcome to "Ask Rabbi Parr". This is a blog where you get to ask your questions about Judaism - and I will try to answer them! Then, everyone can comment, both on the question and the answer, enabling us to have a dialogue. So if you have a question, this is place to ask it.
